Comparison (StupňovánÃ)
Adjectives have three degrees of comparison:
- Positive (krásný - beautiful)
- Comparative (krásnějšà - more beautiful)
- Superlative (nejkrásnějšà - most beautiful)

Forming the Comparative​
Add the suffix -Ä›jÅ¡Ã, -ejÅ¡Ã, or -šà to the stem.
- chytrý (smart) → chytrějšà (smarter)
- zajÃmavý (interesting) → zajÃmavÄ›jÅ¡Ã
- starý (old) → starÅ¡Ã
Forming the Superlative​
Simply add the prefix nej- to the Comparative form.
- chytrějšà → nejchytrějšà (smartest)
- staršà → nejstaršà (oldest)
Irregular Adjectives​
Some common adjectives are irregular. Memorize them!

Comparing with "Než"​
To say "than", use než.
- Petr je staršà než Pavel. (Peter is older than Paul.)
